Dumarey Group and Renault Group announce the signing of an agreement under which Dumarey Group is expected to acquire Alpine Racing SAS, located in Viry-Châtillon (Île-de-France), together with the teams and the tangible and intangible assets required to operate the site. All employees of the entity would be transferred to the acquirer.
This transaction would provide the best conditions for the long-term sustainability of Alpine Racing SAS’s activities and expertise, while preserving employment. It would also strengthen the core business of Alpine Racing SAS’s teams by creating opportunities to leverage their Formula 1 engine expertise for racing teams in the future.
Following completion of the transaction, Alpine Racing SAS is expected to operate under the Dumarey Group brand, ownership and management.
Guido Dumarey, Chairman and Founder of Dumarey Group, said:
"The Viry-Châtillon site has built a strong reputation for advanced engineering and innovation. We see considerable potential in combining its highly skilled teams and technical capabilities with Dumarey’s entrepreneurial culture and diversified industrial footprint. Our ambition is to preserve and further develop this exceptional engineering expertise while creating new opportunities for growth."
Axel Plasse, VP Alpine Tech, said:
"This transaction represents a strong and coherent opportunity to secure and further develop the expertise of the Viry-Châtillon site. It opens up new prospects for employees and for the engineering business. This development is a recognition of the site's longstanding motorsport expertise, particularly in Formula 1."
Motorsport has always been at the heart of the activities of Alpine Tech’s Viry-Châtillon site. This centre of excellence benefits from more than four decades of Formula 1 development experience, as well as recognised expertise in hybrid and electric propulsion systems, simulation, software and testing.
For its part, Dumarey Group is seeking to diversify its activities into motorsport and intends to strengthen and further expand its engineering capabilities by adding world-class expertise in high-performance powertrain development, electrification and advanced testing technologies. This combination would represent a strong strategic fit with Dumarey’s ambition to accelerate innovation across the automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors.
Dumarey’s interest in Alpine Racing SAS reflects the recognized excellence of its teams and Dumarey’s confidence in their ability to build on their heritage and expertise to continue contributing to a dynamic and competitive industrial ecosystem.
The proposed acquisition was presented during an extraordinary Works Council meeting of Alpine Racing SAS on 22 October 2026. The acquisition by Dumarey Group is expected to be completed following the conclusion of the legally required employee consultation process and once all applicable regulatory approvals have been obtained. Renault Group will support this transition responsibly and in full respect of social dialogue.
