ALPINE CREATES HYPERTECH ALPINE, ITS NEW HIGH-TECH ENGINEERING CENTRE IN VIRY-CHATILLON

•As the future centre of excellence, Hypertech Alpine will combine cutting-edge engineering and expertise in high-performance automotive for Alpine and Renault Group.

•Based in Viry-Châtillon, this centre of excellence in engineering will begin operations by late 2024 and, from the outset, will work on the Group's and the brand's future projects while maintaining a solid foothold in motorsport with:

-The Future Alpine Supercar, by contributing to its development,

-R&D on cells and new battery chemistries, in particular with the solid state battery technology,

-Research into new electric motor technologies,

-The continuation of motor racing programmes managed at Viry-Châtillon, such as the WEC endurance race or the Dakar Rally,

-The implementation of an F1 monitoring unit to master technical developments in this industry,

-The development of engineering services for other companies.

•This site transformation will involve reallocating resources and competencies currently assigned to the F1 engine. Each collaborator involved with the project will be offered a position within Hypertech Alpine in Viry-Châtillon.

•The scale of the project and its ambition on cutting-edge technologies will support the brand's growth strategy and unprecedented goals to expand its range of vehicles, with 7 models by 2030.

AN ENGINEERING CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR ALPINE AND RENAULT GROUP

Hypertech Alpine, the brand's new state-of-the-art engineering centre will bring together some of the best talent in the world to contribute to the development of ultra-high-performance vehicles and innovations in cutting-edge technologies, for Alpine and Renault Group. This long-term approach will enable the Viry-Chatillon teams to maintain their skills in cutting-edge technologies (hardware and software) and secure the Group's intellectual property.

The projects to be developed by Hypertech Alpine are as follows :

-The future Alpine Supercar: the Viry-Chatillon centre will step up the development of the future Alpine Supercar.

-The battery technologies of tomorrow: Hypertech Alpine will be responsible for the brand's sports cars' short- to medium-term battery development. In the longer term, these teams will also carry out Research & Advanced Engineering activities on the chemistry of ultra-high energy density cells, in particular with solid state battery technology, in extreme operating conditions for Supercar-type applications.

-The new electric motor technologies: Hypertech Alpine will undertake Research & Advanced Engineering activities on these technologies in collaboration with Ampere, to prepare for the technological breakthroughs expected in the next generation of electric vehicles.

-The motorsport programme: Viry-Chatillon's expertise is widely recognised and reflected in various existing programmes that will strengthen. These include the World Endurance Championship (WEC), customer racing or Formula E and Rally-Raid for partner brands.

-The F1 monitoring unit: Following the consultation process and dialogue with the employee representatives at Viry-Châtillon, Alpine has decided to establish an F1 monitoring unit. This unit will aim to maintain employees' knowledge and skills in this sport and remain at the forefront of innovation for Hypertech Alpine's various projects.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE HYPERTECH ALPINE PROJECT

As a result of the consultation process with the employee representatives, during which discussions were constructive and an independent assessment was conducted, Alpine's management confirms its project to transform the site into a centre of engineering and high-tech excellence by late 2024. Formula 1 activities at Viry, excluding the development of a new engine, will continue until the end of the 2025 season.

Each employee affected by this transformation project will be proposed a new position within Alpine Hypertech.

A dedicated unit, made up of management, human resources and employee representatives, will be implemented to work on the various measures to support the transformation, particularly the training programmes needed to ramp up the new projects.

"Creating this Hypertech Alpine centre is key to Alpine's development strategy and, more broadly, to the Group's innovation strategy. It is a turning point in the history of the Viry-Châtillon site, which will ensure the continuity of a savoir-faire and the inclusion of its rare skills in the Group's ambitious future while strengthening Alpine's position as an 'innovation garage'. Its racing DNA remains a cornerstone of the brand. It will continue to fuel an unprecedented industrial and automotive project, thanks particularly to Hypertech Alpine", says Philippe Krief, Alpine CEO.
